Saturday Blog Roll

Well it is finally Saturday, and we're hoping everyone is enjoying the weekend, sweet blessed weekend. Today we start off our Saturday Blog Roll, a series of posts that will highlight blogs we've been reading and finding especially helpful, fun and inspirational. We'll try to highlight one to three blogs per week, and would love any suggestions on more blogs we should be following.

Today's post is dedicated to Johanna's Big Thoughts, a blog by Johanna Harness, a young adult novelist and creator of the Twitter hashtag #amwriting. I love this blog because Johanna is so warm, open and she writes with a lot of love. I especially appreciated the post, "My Twitter Rules for Authors" from this week where she gives a very helpful list of Twitter tips. I've spent a lot of time in the last few months looking at these kinds of lists, but Johanna's is definitely my favorite. With suggestions like "Being a friend is more important than being important," "Don't keep score," and "Acting in love is never a mistake," they might sound a little cheesy at first, but what Johanna is trying to get across, and what she does get across so well, is that we should be ourselves and be caring on Twitter, build friendships and relationships and not act like we are more important than everyone else. Wise words for sure, on or off Twitter.
